René is a person of all trades and brings years of varied skills honed in many different positions and industries to her position as Operations Specialist with ALF Oregon. She was born in California but has always wanted to live somewhere else and finally made that dream come true in 2017 when she and her husband moved to Portland. She is a very happy and grateful transplant and is multi passionate about animals, being an Aunt to her 3 nieces and 3 nephews, performing, the arts, reading, writing, and being out in and protecting nature. She has a great curiosity about people and how we work and studied sociology in college. She is currently trying to improve her foreign language and photography skills while contemplating going back to school to study neuroscience, psychology, or creative writing.
Prior to joining the ALF Oregon team, René was working as a virtual assistant for multiple clients as well as performing from time to time. She has also worked as an office manager, in retail, hospitality, restaurants, and entertainment. Prior to 2020 she had been working for Powell's Books at the PDX Airport location and The Moda Center and she enjoyed working at three very Portland institutions.
In her free time René enjoys long walks in nature with her dog and husband, singing and dancing around the house (and hopefully soon on stage again), learning to garden, reading, and having adventures with friends!
